L.A. Cafe has become the favorite stop of both locals and expats alike in the Ermita, Manila area. Formally opened August 27, 1999, L.A. Cafe had already expanded to the second level incorporating the famous Diamond Head to cope with the growing number of patrons coming in and again. L.A. Cafe has nine (9) billiard tables, a minishop and offers free wireless internet access, Because of its European ambience and exquisite International dishes, it captures the hearts of most expatriates living in and around Manila.

L.A. Cafe's latest addition is the Annex, due to the increasing patrons, L.A. Cafe acquired the bar across the street. Patrons can now enjoy more room and ambience of a luxury bar.

L.A. is also active when it comes to caring for the community. Aside from the FREE RICE PORRIDGE, a joint project of L.A. Cafe and Barangay 668, it is also a member and active supporter of MEMLA (Manila Entertainment Music Longe Association) click here to see projects

Last December 21 2007, Saturday, L.A. Cafe in cooperation with Barangay 668 gave out free gifts and food to the street children of Ermita. Dubbed as the "Street Party for the Children of Ermita" brought about smiles and laughter to the children. This is the first of an annual event that L.A. Cafe management is determined to carry on.

Celebrity guest and other events at the 2nd floor

The 2nd floor of L.A. Cafe is where the actions is really at. It offers daily live band music from Manilas' finest bands from 9 pm - 2 am. Due to popular demand, two bands play everyday. Dance, R&B and Latin music are among the favorites.

Lots of CELEBRITY guests performs in L.A. Cafe to name some is Mr. Freddie "Anak" Aguilar, Internationally acclaimed singer and song writer performs once a month. The latest celebrity to grace the place is non other than the master rapper himself "Andrew E". Mr. E not only entertained the crowd but proved to them that he is still the master rapper.

Other celebrities like world champion pool players Efren "BATA" Reyes, Francisco "DJANGO" Bustamante and Rudolfo "SAMSON" Luat drops by and entertainment guest with their trick shots and exhibition games Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan made a untitled match with Efren Reyes on their last visit in L.A. Cafe. Each visit of these athletes are commemorated with a t-shirt design complete with signature available at the minishop.

Manny "the Pacman" Paquiao made a brief visit and played pool with some guest This soft spoken World Champion surprised the crowd with his tricks shots proving skill in his alternate sport, pool. His brother Bobby "the Sniper" Pacquiao also did a brief visit 3 days after a victorious fight.

Most recent celebrity group that graced L.A. Cafe was the world famous "AEGIS Band". This almost all female band delighted the audience with their ballads, the high pitched voice of the lead singer astonished the crowd. Autograph signing followed afterwards. Other celebrities that graced L.A. Cafe stage are Southborder, Cushe, Side A, Freestyle and Ramon "RJ" Jacinto.

Rogues Sports Bar

Other major events are the Miss L.A. Pageant held every middle of the year. The pageant is participated by lovely and georgeous young woman of Manila competing with each other for the title. The Wet T-shirt competition usually follows after. Beauties parade and display their lovely curved bodies wearing wet t-shirt to augment the curves. Winners of these competition receives cash prizes and weekends at the fascinating island of Puerto Galera sponsored by Big Apple Dive Resort.
Minishop

Minishop offers souvenir items from shirt, caps, shoes, skirts, golf bags, cue sticks to keychains, imported chocolates, chips, nuts and crackers. Beerholders, Tobaccos and other personal hygiene products such as lotions, shampoos and a lot more. There is also a discount corner where you can grab items at reduced prices.
